Sat 19 & Sun 20 Feb 2022 / Jewellery Making Intensive (Beginner students)

In this fast-paced weekend intensive, you will learn the fundamentals of silversmithing including;
  • annealing & soldering silver
  • metal stamping and texturing using hammers and a rolling mill
  • shaping metal using mandrels and hammers
  • creating micro-components including jump rings, bails and earring hooks
  • understanding how to use jewellers hand tools and micro-motors/drills
  • learning about various finishing techniques such as creating a matte or high shine finish with different polishing wheels and micro motor attachments
  • jewellery photography, pricing & presentation techniques
At the end of the two days, you will have created at least four finished pieces of silver jewellery - one pair of earrings, a pendant and two rings.

Please note that we do not make cuffs in this workshop due to the huge quantity of silver required, however if you would like to pre-order silver, please contact us to arrange this 2 weeks prior to your class.

Unlike most other jewellery workshops, our classes are limited to 4 students.

Tea, coffee, a healthy lunch and all materials (up to 30 grams of silver) are included in the course fee. *Additional silver is available for purchase if required.

You will also receive some very detailed workshop notes.

Please note: we do not set gemstones in this workshop. Our gemstone setting class is now an intermediate workshop so you must have completed this workshop or another class elsewhere prior to enrolling.
