Sat 17 April / Wax Carving & Sand Casting Workshop


Learn the to sandcast jewellery and small objects using sand (delft clay) in this fun, full day workshop. Casting is an ancient tecnique that has been used to make jewellery for thousands of years. 

In this workshop, we will be using sterling silver (15 grams is included in the course fee) and you can also bring your old silver/gold jewellery to melt down and use in your creations. 

Sand Casting can be used to cast almost any hard object including existing pieces of jewellery and organic objects. 

During this workshop, you will learn to carve a ring from jewellery wax and cast it. 

You can also bring along something small that you would like to cast in silver, or use one of the many objects that will be available on the day. 

No previous experience is necessary for this workshop. 

Time: This workshop runs from 9.30am - 4pm

Safety Notes:

  • Please ensure long hair is tied back
  • Please wear old clothes such as jeans and a t-shirt (No flowing clothes) 
  • Please wear closed in shoes
