BYO Gold Wedding Ring Workshop
What better way to ensure your wedding rings hold special meaning than to hand craft them yourselves in a fabulous, full day workshop?
This is our most eco-friendly jewellery workshop, perfect for couples who want to recycle their old gold. *Please note that you will require 30+ grams of 9 or 18ct Yellow or Rose Gold to do this workshop*.
Unfortunately, we are unable to make platinum or white gold wedding rings using this method. If you'd like to make your wedding rings from white gold ring, please see our Forged in Love Wedding Ring Workshop or our Carved & Cast Wedding Ring Workshop.
In this workshop, we will require your old gold at least 2 weeks in advance - this gives us time to melt and alloy the gold if necessary.
If you provide jewellery with gemstones, springs, catches or clasps we will charge an additional $250 for the time it takes us to carefully remove the gemstones.
We will save these for you and give them to you on the day of your workshop.
You may even like to use them in your wedding band (see below for stone setting fees).
Your recycled gold will be ready and waiting for you when you come to our bright, welcoming Sunshine Coast studio and on the day of the workshop, we will start by measuring your fingers to ensure you make the most comfortable ring possible.
Under the expert guidance of a professional jeweller, you will learn to measure, cut, shape, and finish your wedding rings to perfection. You can incorporate a textured or hammered finish, a matte or brushed finish or polish your creations to a high shine.
Your lesson will include a gourmet lunch, morning/afternoon tea and to top it all off, you will enjoy a glass of bubbles to celebrate your success in crafting what will remain the symbol of your marital union till death do you part!
To commemorate the experience of this sacred creation, you’ll leave with plenty of photos and videos of your day together.
The BYO Gold Wedding Ring Making Workshop includes:
- A full-day ring making workshop for two people
- A gold ingot for each ring made using your own gold
