BYO Gold Wedding Ring Workshop
This private Bring Your Own Gold Wedding Ring Workshop is held over a full day and is for couples who want to supply their own gold, which can be yellow or rose gold jewellery, or gold nuggets.
In this workshop, we hand forge and fabricate your ring using the metal ingot that we create using your old gold.
Unfortunately, we are unable to make white gold wedding rings using this method. If you'd like to make your wedding ring from white gold ring, please see our other wedding ring workshops.
In this workshop, we require at least 30 grams of yellow or rose gold jewellery with no gemstones, catches or springs at least 2 weeks in advance. This can be posted to us via registered post. This gives us time to melt and alloy the gold if necessary.
If you provide jewellery with gemstones, springs, catches or clasps we will charge an additional $250 for the time it takes us to carefully remove the gemstones.
We will save these for you and give them to you on the day of your workshop. You may even like to use them in your wedding band (see below for stone setting fees).
Bring Your Own Gold Wedding Ring Making Workshop includes:
- Private ring making workshop for two people

- Fine silver and copper to create your alloy
Additional expenses:
- Stone setting starting from $25 per stone
- Fingerprint engraving $250 per ring
- Engraving a message/name/date $180 per ring
- Engraving a message in your handwriting $250 per ring
- Rhodium plating (for white gold rings) $80 per ring
Specialised skills such as stone setting, engraving and plating are undertaken by professionals after you have made your rings.
Wedding bands can be made from sterling silver or yellow, white or rose gold in 9ct or 18ct.

Workshops are held on the Sunshine Coast, an hours drive north of Brisbane.
The Sunshine Coast is a beautiful location with plenty of things to see and do.
