Carving wax is a wonderful technique for creating jewellery. Rich textural surfaces and fluid, curving shapes can be created in wax material that can then be cast into a variety of metals to create a finished product.

This is a TWO-PART evening workshop. It is held two weeks apart as it takes a 7 working days for our casting house in Melbourne to cast your pieces and post them back to us.

In the first evening class, students will have the opportunity to experiment with different types of wax to create a wax ring.

The first evening class is a longer one, so we can spend time carving and finessing your masterpiece.

The second evening is a shorter class as we will focus on cleaning up your casting, sawing off the sprue, filing, sanding and polishing/finishing your piece. (The second class time will be arranged during our first class).

This class runs from 6-9pm on the first evening.

Additional Info:

  • An additional fee will apply for your metal - we will let you know how much your metal costs once the casting house weights and casts your piece - this could range from $50 - $185 per piece depending on the metal and weight.
  • This class includes tea, coffee and biscuits
  • Please note, we can arrange to have  your ring engraved for an additional fee, please allow 2 weeks for this process

Please note: We also offer a more advanced wax carving/casting class with gemstones set in place, however you must have completed this class before you can go on to do that one.
